Rachel, who was named after the Old Testament figure, is questioning her faith.
She wonders, “Out of all the religions of the world, is mine the right one?”
Rachel has been Christian her whole life and goes to church almost every Sunday. She loves God, but feels there’s something missing.
How can her religion be the only “right” one? Are most humans who believe in and follow other gods going to burn in hell?
Rachel feels she can’t talk with anyone about her doubts. She’s worried she will be judged by others and by God.
Have you ever felt like Rachel?
Out of all the religions of the world, how do you know if yours is the right one?
- It is alright to question your faith
You need to find what resonates with your spirit. No one has the power to make you believe something you don’t want.
- If you enjoy church, keep going.
Even though you may not agree with everything taught at your church, this does not mean you have to stop attending. If there are things said that you disagree with, just relax, remember you know your truth, and that’s all that matters. When you feel a connection with Spirit while listening to the sermon, take a deep breath and allow that good feeling to flow through you.
- Don’t worry, Be happy.
God does not judge. God is the always expanding consciousness and everlasting love. You, both physically and non-physically, are an extension of God. We all, in both Heaven and Earth, are growing together. When you feel love and appreciation, you are connected fully to that which is God.
- There is not only one “right” religion
It is not about who has the right religion, but about your personal connection to Source (Spirit), and aligning with the wholeness of who you are. Every religion seeks this. however they go about it in different ways.
You decide if your religion is right for you. It does not matter what anyone else believes. It is not your job to “save” another. When you feel inspired and you want to share your beliefs with another, you will attract to you people who are ready to hear it.
If God does not judge others, why should you? You are free to be yourself and so are they. Doesn’t that just feel right?
- Ask yourself:
Am I happy?
Do I get excited about things to come?
Am I able to guide my thoughts and emotions to what I want, rather than focusing on what I do not want?
If you are able to answer “yes” to these 3 questions, then you are fully connected to God.
“In all the world’s religions are the seeds of Truth. Different religions are like spokes on a wheel with the hub being God (or Spirit.) Religions may be set apart by a variance of beliefs, styles and approaches, but they are all seeking the One God at the center of all Life. Just as the spokes on the wheel come closer to each other as they near the hub, so too, as each path comes closer to God, it comes closer to all other paths.”
~ Rev. Wendy Craig-Purcell
