Have you been getting hit or miss results with your positive affirmations? Or do they seem to not work at all?
Part of the human condition is that, if left alone, we flail around undisciplined and unfocused.
In the world of positive affirmations, without structure, regular practice, and commitment, they have no way to take effect.
So, quite simply, one of the ways to get the most out of them is to create structure in your day so that they actually have an impact and cause positive ripples throughout your day.
That is the point of them!
So what could structure look like? There isn’t any one way to do this, but here’s a suggestion. A wonderful gift to give yourself is to start the day with the positive affirmations that you’ve created for yourself. Keep them on a card next to your bed so that as soon as start your day, the first thing you feed your mind and your heart as you speak them out loud is your ideal life.
How can I make positive affirmations part of my day?
The next suggestion is to have them wherever you are so that you can look at them and have them in your awareness throughout the day. Place them at your desk somewhere prominent, so if you glance at them, they’re right there. And to add extra power and oomph to your day, as you consciously choose to take a break from what you’re doing, look at them and to say them out loud.
Obviously, you’re not going to chant them all day long, but the idea here is to keep them in your consciousness throughout your day. Stick them on the wall near your desk, up on your monitor—somewhere where you actually do see them on a regular basis. If your day takes you away from your office, then make sure that you have them with you.
And then finally, another wonderful gift to give yourself is to complete your day with them. At the end of your day, snuggle into bed and read them out loud to bring your day to a wonderful close. Then your affirmations will be playing in your subconscious mind while you’re sleeping and dreaming.
Here’s how to make affirmations work for you:
- Create structure so that they can take effect.
- Make your affirmations part of your regular morning routine.
- Place them in prominent places in your office.
- Take them with you when you’re out and about.
- Make your affirmations part of your regular nighttime routine.
This is how to make your positive affirmations become part of your whole day, both when you’re awake and when you’re sleeping. They will be with you all the time!
