Imagine. “I AM again …”

See in your mind what is the perfect experience for you. Rather than considering what you do NOT have, what if … you imagined HAVING that thing, BEING in that place, EXPERIENCING that action. How would you feel?

Can you feel that way now, by imagining that you ALREADY have what you desire?

That is the energy that comes with your focus on the Seven Sacred Principles. That becomes part of your story of life, of learning, of experiencing.

These powerful teachings form the foundation of beliefs handed down from the Elders. They align with the Seven Sacred Directions of the Medicine Wheel:

  • Courage

  • Love

  • Honesty

  • Wisdom

  • Humility

  • Respect

  • Truth

Our Ojibwe culture knows them as the “Seven Grandfathers.”

Why “Grandfather?” This is a term of respect for an elder man of the tribe. Not necessarily a biological family member, but someone whose experience, knowledge, wisdom … whose connection to the Seven Principles … is both wide and close.

To call someone “Grandfather” is to show honor and respect, from a loving place of learning. Grandfathers are the guides, the keepers of the stories … the history … of the family, the clan, the tribe or band.

Grandfathers are wise, loving teachers, showing patience when young students need to have lessons repeated and examples shown again and again.

Consider this week’s quote:

A principle is the expression of perfection …

Over the next several weeks, you’ll have the chance to explore each Sacred Principle in detail … to come to understand how that principle — that Grandfather — guides your life. How your stories are kept. How you give and receive honor.

You are already an important member of the How To Live On Purpose tribe! May you walk in beauty and light …

Live on Purpose … Change the World!
