In Loving Memory Poems: Is Writing Them Healing for Survivors of the 9/11 attack?

In Loving Memory Poems Dedicated To Family and Friends Lost In the 911 Attack

In Loving Memory Poems for Loved Ones Lost in the 9/11 AttackHow Do I Treasure You, Precious Love Of Mine?

How do I treasure you? How keep you close – without despair?
You will no longer be
Here to comfort me.
As I shake myself awake – up from the heavy dross of pain,
Of the knife that tears at my heart,
Of the grief, of missing you so much I ache…
I cry again, alone in my leaden hollow emptiness –

Until the white butterfly catches my eye.
It flutters by,
Encircling me in its whimsical angel wings,
Streaming with sparkling wonder energy,
Touching the song that fills my heart again,
Opening my face to this brimming smile

that reminds me …
That when I let you be,
When I let you go,
I see your glow.

Then I know…
You are always here –
Playing, dancing, gently loving, laughing…
Just as you always were in Spirit.
You are here
As soul.
I treasure you now – and the delight you bring when I open to you.

Your Presence fills me…
When I stand tall in my Self,
And know that, though you are not here now in body,
I am Not alone.
Your Love is with me.

And I know now, it always, always can be.

That’s my choice
It’s up to me.
I choose now – deep in every fiber of my being –
To hold you close,
And yet to set you free.
That is how I treasure you, Oh Precious Love of mine.

~~~~~
When we can release the pain and the stress that comes with the loss of our most beloved
family and friends in the 9/11 attack, the sadness remains.  However, entwined in every fiber of that sadness
and grief is the great love that birthed it.
As we learn to release the fear – and the pain – more, the Love shines through more, and fills us.
And it is so huge!  When we can open to it, we experience the Love more fully.
As human beings we are learning to live and hold the great blessing of that love.  And as long as we live,
we can open more and more to it.  May we learn to live filled with Love.  Filled to overflowing.
You may want to try writing in loving memory poems as a way to dispel the grief and to find
alternative healing for your pain.  Writing is a great release and opens up more space in the loving heart
of each of one.  Any kind of writing works, even if it is angry, or funny.  It brings freedom.
Another way to release pain, a great alternative healing approach to open and fill with the immense love
we have inside us, is guided meditation and relaxation.  Stress and tension can be released and flow out
of you in a very short time with a great guided experience.
Even grief will dispel with the deep relaxation this type of guided meditation brings.
To experience a beautiful recording that can relieve tension, release stress and allow you to deeply relax,
recharge and fill with peaceful, loving energy, please look at:
How Can You Get Enough Sleep With Painful Fibromyalgia Symptoms?
Can you get deep healing sleep when you are in intense or chronic pain?
Sarah slammed the book shut.  She had had enough; she was gritting her teeth she was so mad.
Here we go AGAIN… It was a book on pain and all it told her was do this, do that and do, do, do more.
How Can You Get Enough Sleep With Painful Fibromyalgia SymptomsImage via Wikipedia
All Sarah could think was: ” I don’t want to hear anything else about what to do.
I don’t want to be told what to do!
I don’t want to be guided through what to do.
I don’t want to do anything more at all!
I have fibromyalgia and I’m in a lot of pain.”
She thought to herself, ” They should just tell you to get horizontal.
Get horizontal!”  As in, ” Lie down!”
Sarah was so exhausted she didn’t want to hear anything except how she could rest.
The pain was so intense it was hard for her to even relax enough to sleep.
But that’s what she needed most; that was all she needed.
SLEEP!
She just didn’t know how she was to get that sleep.
As it turned out, she spoke with the author of that book on pain and told her what she thought.  As the book was being edited for a new version, Sarah actually ended up giving her  input for it, and changes were made to address her concerns and frustrations.
It was clear to Sarah, to the author, and to everyone who she talked with that what she deeply needed was a better way to rest –
to get deeper, more restorative rest.
Difficulty getting meaningful rest and quality sleep certainly is a primary challenge for people with fibromyalgia symptoms.
So, how do you rest?
How do you get your best rest, especially if you’re dealing with pain?
This is THE big question – the most important thing to address.  This is the primary reason it’s critical to find some relief from the pain.
The biggest reason for pharmaceutical intervention, the drug therapies, is to be able to relieve the pain enough so that other more natural treatments, lifestyle modifications and balances can take place and be effective.
As a result of that pain relief, you can then have your attention present.
The pain relief is enough to allow you to do the other things necessary to relieve stress, release tension, avoid burnout and overwhelm, and to get things done efficiently.  You must be able to work without falling apart from fatigue, exhaustion and depression.
Sarah needed all of that that, a way to deeply rest.  Every one of us needs that!
Sleep is a primary need.
It is for everyone, but even more so if you are in great pain.  Getting really replenishing sleep, which is needed to repair, rebuild and recharge the body, is one of the great challenges of dealing with intense or chronic pain.  Treatment for pain has to be able to allow for the sleep irregularity that results from that pain.  One of the primary factors involved is being able to relax enough so that the pain can release or diminish.
The more tension there is, the more the pain gets locked in.
So it’s very important to find whatever ways work for you to relax and relieve this stress and tension.
Very powerful ways can be found in many different forms of meditation.  There are opportunities to experience tastes of these in posts in the Fibromyalgia Symptoms and in the Life Purpose categories.
Do you remember that THE biggest reason for pain relieving drugs, particularly with fibromyalgia, is to get enough relief so that the lifestyle changes and balances needed for healing can take place.   The pain relief then enables you to release stress and tension and to work without going into depression or burnout.
But first, on the physical pain component:
Many people experiencing fibromyalgia symptoms feel they have tried every natural remedy available and found it did not do enough.
But, have they?
Or have they given up and don’t believe there is anything natural available that will help significantly?
Have you tried Magnesium Oil?
Yes, oil, NOT pills.
Did you know that research is now showing that most of the population of this country is in serious magnesium deficiency.
According to research, magnesium deficiency is now epidemic.
It does not often show up on tests as a deficiency because magnesium is so critical to cell, organ and brain health that if there is not enough in the blood, it will be pulled out of the tissues and joints.
Some of the indicators of magnesium deficiency are difficulty sleeping – and relaxing, muscle spasms, lack of energy and pain of unknown origin.  Pain!
Many people take magnesium TABLETS or CAPSULES without noticeable relief from pain or improvement in sleep patterns.  It does NOT absorb well through the digestive tract and the necessary amounts can cause diarrhea and stress the liver.
Research and experience now show that transdermal magnesium that you spray on your skin absorbs much more readily and goes directly into cells.  Entering through the skin, instead of the digestive tract means it does not clog the liver or kidneys or cause diarrhea – as do high doses of magnesium pills.
There is a growing number of reports from patients with fibromyalgia symptoms that magnesium oil helps enormously to relieve their pain.  Some find significant relief within a day or two, for some it may be a few weeks.  Many report awareness of noticeable changes almost immediately, and major improvement within a few weeks or a month.
Liquid magnesium is not truly an oil, but it’ s a solution of natural magnesium chloride from ancient seas below the earth’ s surface.
It is natural and there are no reported side effects of any kind (except that it tastes bad to some folks).
If you want to look into this approach for yourself or a loved one,
Did you know that conditions linked to magnesium levels include:
Headaches, Muscle Spasms and Cramps, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia.
If you are willing and open to new awareness of yourself, You can do phenomenal things to affect your health and happiness.
Do you want to experience that for yourself now?
How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength? Part3
How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength? Part 3
This is the third in a multi-part series on important ways you get strong from knowing your life purpose.
To view Part 1, read the story, and get the first 3 ways Julie pulled herself from the edge of depression into a vital knowing
of her life purpose, click this link: How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength? Part 1
How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength Part3To view Part 2, with more keys to unlock your strength, energy and enthusiasm, click this link: How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength? Part 2
How can you get strong by discovering your life purpose?
Here are more tips for getting clarity on your life purpose through enhancing your relationship with yourself:
How can you motivate yourself to take action?
For example:
How do you go for that walk or create that special place for you to recharge your energy – especially if you are depressed or in pain?
How do you let yourself care, especially if you are afraid, tired and in a lot of pain?
If you don’t have the knowing of what your gift to the world is, how do you develop it?
Caring, feeling that you are important, and knowing you offer a gift – your unique gift to your world –
is essential
.
It’s a critical element in the emotional make-up of all human beings.
There is an awesome process for having the experience of deep appreciation for yourself (and others)
called The 21-day “I Am a Gift to the World!” Challenge.  There will be more on that in a minute.
First, consider this:
If your life and family have not trained you to give and receive enough appreciation,
then you will want to train yourself.
This is of paramount importance to a good life.
How do you let yourself care, especially if you are afraid, tired and in a lot of pain?
How do you know that you are appreciated?
Do you appreciate you?
There are processes for doing this throughout the BeHereWow.com blog, because this is so important.
It is a core foundation of your life purpose.
Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength?
And Is Caring Essential Your Life Purpose?
Here are some ways to open and strengthen your relationship with yourself …
and make space for your life purpose to come clear in your awareness:
•    Replace forcing with enticing
•    Ask yourself for help
•    Use rewards – Do a Celebration Dance!
•    Treat yourself like someone you love
•    Be the model for how to relate to you
Just as Julie forced herself to go for that liberating walk that helped to open her up to her life purpose,
do the following experiment for you, even if you have to force yourself to do it.
Of course, the preferred way is not to force yourself, but to ask yourself for help, or entice yourself,
in a gentle encouraging way.
This is a far superior approach to forcing yourself, or using coercion and criticism.
You (like all human beings) hate to be coerced and criticized by yourself just as much as by other people.
Coercion and forcing go against the grain and most often set up reactions of defiance and resistance.
Most people are amazed at how much cooperation can be generated by asking – even from yourself!
Offer yourself rewards or celebrations as positive reinforcement.  These can be gold stars,
a favorite yummy snack or your Starbucks latte.  It can be time for a special call to chat with your best friend.
Make it whatever feels like a celebration dance to you!
(Celebration dances are actually great rewards if you like dancing.)
Always care for yourself as you would care for someone you love.
In your mind, do you – like a lot of people – criticize yourself and call yourself harsh belittling names?
Would you do that to a friend that you love? Generally, the answer is NO!
If you have, they were no doubt offended, and you most likely regretted it.
Or it significantly altered your friendship, right?
So, why would you treat yourself that way?
Who gave you permission to be mean to you, instead of kind and caring?  Did they have that right?  No!
Parents, teachers or others who took care of you as a child may have unintentionally modeled that for you
and taught you by example to do it.
They may not have wanted to do that and could even have just been passing along a bad pattern that
they learned from parents, teachers or care-takers.
Well, it’s time to change that.  You do not have to continue a pattern of negative relationship with yourself,
even if it has been a habit for a long time.
These patterns can be changed.
You deserve to be treated like someone you love.
Don’t you?
If you hesitated answering this question, then please do this: say YES!  You need to say it sincerely, and mean it,
as this is the foundation of your relationship with yourself, and you are setting the tone
and the model for how others will relate to you.
So, treat yourself the way you want others to treat you.  You will be gifting the world with a good model!
Remember The 21-day “I Am a Gift to the World!” Challenge mentioned above as an awesome
chance to experience a depth of appreciation?  It is also a wonderful way to be in the appreciation
and at the same time open to the gift that You have to offer the world.
The Challenge is F*R*E*E – and it is also very freeing.
How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength? Part2
Can you get strong from a clear knowing of your life purpose?
This is the second in a multi-part series on important ways you get strong from knowing your life purpose.
To view Part 1, read the story, and get the first 3 ways Julie pulled herself from the edge of depression into a vital knowing of her life purpose, click this link: How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength? Part1
Here are more keys to unlock your strength, energy and enthusiasm, as Julie did that day on her walk in the woods….
How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You StrengthRemember that Julie had gone walking, feeling no energy or excitement, on the day her close friend was hoping she would be giving birth to her new baby.
The baby girl – Vanessa – was born more beautiful and vibrant than Julie could ever have imagined.  She had thought newborns were usually born looking a little swollen and crumpled at first, but that was not the case with Vanessa.
The birth of her beloved honorary grandchild had rocketed Julie out of her almost hopeless despair.  The baby brought a brilliant new life force that opened her heart and fueled her energy.
This was because of the presence of a new life force, but it was also because Julie opened herself up and allowed herself to care, and reach out – and sing!
Emerging from being on the edge of depression, Julie let herself be awakened and energized by the arrival of the new baby – and by her own caring.
How Does Knowing Your Life Purpose Give You Strength?
Julie did three more things that dramatically shifted her experience.  These are universal principles that are key to unlocking that Energy Shifting Door!
3 Ways to Shift Your Energy & Your Experience of Reality:
•    Take a Break from Your Routine.
Get a break from your regular routine.
This brings in fresh energy, and fresh input is important.
You critically need to take occasional breaks from your usual schedule.  This can be something as simple as getting up to stretch, or it can be going for a walk around the block, or even around your office.  Or it might be going to another room to call a friend and share a joke or an accomplishment – whatever shifts the energy.
Breaking from your routine opens you to a bigger perspective, to new horizons and new possibilities, which lets hope and enthusiasm in. These give you new strength.  Then going back to your routine can bring the focus needed to accomplish the task at hand.
•    Go Outside, If At All Possible.
Be in nature or in a place that lifts and inspires you.
Choose to be in an environment that transforms you – and opens new space for you to breathe.  For some this may be a music room or an art studio or a library, for others a patio or a garden or the park.  What is it for you?
If you don’t have a place like this yet, it’s a good time to find or create one for yourself.  This is something you both need and deserve.  It will allow you to discharge tension and to recharge your energy immensely, building strength and shifting your reality.
•    Dare to Care – Appreciate others and feel appreciated.
Care deeply about something or someone.  Appreciate that someone as much as you can.
Although it may seem surprising, that will make you feel full and much more appreciated yourself.
It can be anyone or anything that has meaning for you personally – regardless what anyone else thinks.
For many people it may be a special pet, as pets make it so easy to love and be loved.  They make it easy to feel appreciated.  They know that you care because you are there, even when you are not doing anything.  You do not have to DO anything for a pet to know that you care.  It is your pure being – just being there – that is the essence of your value to them, and instinctively this is true for all human beings as well.
There’s a very special opportunity to break out of your regular routine into an experience of deep inspiration and a new kind of caring.  It’s called The 21-day “I Am a Gift to the World!” Challenge. The Challenge is F*R*E*E – and very freeing.
To relieve stress and overwhelm, even if you are really burned out, and bathe yourself in deep appreciation, check out this Challenge.
It will fill you with a great sense of value and knowing that you have a gift for the world.
To see the Challenge,
Where Is The Power in Fibromyalgia Support Groups?
Is there any real power in fibromyalgia support groups?
Debbie felt sick to her stomach, and it wasn’t the fibromyalgia.  It wasn’t even the medication this time.
She was in one of the best fibromyalgia support groups in the area, but she had to leave before it was over.  She just couldn’t take any more self-pity.  It made her angry.
Fibromyalgia Support GroupsDebbie had just gotten her diagnosis of fibromyalgia syndrome after a long grueling period of intense pervasive pain.  Eager to attend the support group and get support, find new treatments, hear about alternatives that worked and exchange ideas, she was excited.  She wanted to find new friends who could understand and relate to what she was going through.
At last, she wouldn’t feel so alone.
She was very excited to share what she has been going through and discovering with changing her diet to more natural whole foods.  Debbie looked forward to sharing the noticeable relief she was already getting with her beginning experiment.  And she hoped to find more gifts and treasures of information and assistance from other people there – about other things to try that would benefit her even more.
The relief from changing her diet could actually increase exponentially if she got more input about what else could be aggravating her condition.
It was a chance to:
•    find new friends, new understanding,
•    share what she knew, and
•    learn about natural treatments and other things to help her.
Maybe she would get some help with exercise – learn how to do it without stressing out her muscles and creating more pain.
She decided to join a group, convinced it was the best of the fibromyalgia support groups available to her; and she was sure she would get a lot of support.  Here were all these people comparing notes on their medications: how to take them without upsetting your stomach so much, when to take them to try to get a little more sleep.  That part was fine …
Except that everybody was just sharing about their medications and complaining about their situation, and whining, whining, whining.  No one, it seemed to her, absolutely no one there was the least bit interested in finding out what else they could do – or actually doing anything – to change their condition.  They felt that doctors and drugs have all the power.
“Take this drug, try that drug, and do what the doctor says.”  That was the only option they felt they had.  No one  believed that they had any power to change their situation.  From what Debbie saw, no one believed there was anything else they could do or explore that the doctors hadn’t prescribed.  Instead, they seemed to resign themselves to the situation, and then fall into wallowing in self-pity.  They expected the same from her.
But Debbie was not willing to accept that as her fate.  She could not live with that.  The moment she felt the self-pity she was just repulsed by it, and vowed to find another way.
What could she do?  How could she empower herself? What could she do for herself?  She couldn’t live anymore in that intense pain, and she couldn’t bear having her life taken over by medications that had such strong side effects.  So, it seemed she was between a rock and another rock.  It was resignation and defeat, or severe pain.
And it was up to her to do something about it.
She wanted to find more natural ways to treat herself.  Debbie took the reins, determined to find what she needed to treat herself and make the difference.  She  did a lot of research.  She looked into lifestyle and found reports of beneficial results with different approaches on:
•    diet,
•    exercise,
•    relaxation and
•    stress release
She made some big changes in her approach and experimented until she had made some definite progress with her diet.  She felt stronger, clearer less frazzled and stressed.  She was going to find a way to continue with that and make it even better.  She just kept experimenting.  Two years of trial and error and she kept on getting a little bit better and a little bit better.  Finally, her pain began to drop away. And it continued to diminish faster and faster.
She used some other methods, too, that she had learned, from Tai Chi, yoga and gentle exercise to doing things in small pieces, not taking on too much stress at a time.  She wanted her support group to be like that.  Maybe she would have to create her own group.  That was one way she knew to do it.  She was going to find her own support or create it.
It takes a lot of courage and also determination, but you can create your own support group.  If you want to have the real “best of the fibromyalgia support groups,” you can even change your support group.  You can let them know that you think there is hope for you to be able to change your condition yourselves, especially if you support each others’ positive commitments.
This is particularly true when you band together as a community to create the power of what is called a “mastermind group,” where the energy of the group as a whole strengthens each participant’s efforts.
There are natural healing methods that do make a difference.  It’s true they don’t solve everything immediately.  They’re not magic pills.  But they do make a huge difference, if you are dedicated and you have the guts to try them and stick to it.
So if you are going to one of the fibromyalgia support groups out there, you too may need to take action to let them know that more is available.  Eventually, Debbie had quite positive results from her work with diet and other natural approaches, so that she could go back to the support group and show them that there were other options, that there was support, that there are natural treatments.  There are things you can do, if you choose – to improve your own condition and your pain.
You may be one of those people that can inspire your group to change, to be open, to be more motivated.  Alternatively, you certainly can find other groups that can help you to relieve stress, reduce burn out, and ease pain.  You can, in turn support others.  Seek out a group where you feel that sense of community, of willingness to stand by and support one another, and of positive inspiring energy.
If that’s something that interests you, or has you feeling uplifted,
please check out the F.ree 21-Day “I Am a Gift to the World!” Challenge.
Debbie was a gift to her world, and you are a gift to your world, too – and to yourself.
Experience what it’s like to be able to share your gift – the beautiful and powerful gift that you are.
You can experience that again – more powerfully than you ever have before.  Not because of a miracle.  But because that is your natural state, and it has just gotten buried by imbalance that has overcome your body and emotions.
Is Fierce Love Part of Your Life Purpose?
How do you know your life purpose? How can you honor it?
Do you need to protect yourself to honor your life purpose?
Is Fierce Love Part of Your Life Purpose?Robert’s father left them when he was two. His mother worked every job she could and took in sewing, struggling to feed her children. She wanted so much to  keep them healthy and safe in the simple dirt-floored cabin they called home.
They had very little money, very little to eat, and barely kept everything going, but they were happy. His mother, Akwa, took wonderful, meticulous care of them.
By the time he was four, Robert’s job was to help take care of the younger children. If there wasn’t enough food, he always made sure his younger brother had enough, even if he went without. His mother would say, “Robert, you’re a growing boy, you need to eat more.” And he would just tell her he was full. He wanted to help her take care of his baby brother and his tiny sister – and help them all be stronger.
After a couple of years, she realized that they just couldn’t continue where they were. They didn’t have enough support and she didn’t have enough work. Although it was familiar and safe, they would probably stay poor indefinitely here. She wanted a greater opportunity to take care of her children and give them a good life.
So she decided to go west to find better work. It was a big move for a woman alone with three small children.
Robert, now four, helped his mother load his younger brother, his baby sister and their few belongings into the car for the journey west to their new life.
It was a long drive, several days, with the children nestled in the back seat. She stopped rarely – at truck stops, just in order to eat, use the restroom and move their legs – the bare essentials. They drove hour after hour, the kids playing in the back as best they could, then resting and sleeping.
Akwa – little Robert called her Ni Mama – drove as long as she could until she had to sleep, pulling into a truck stop to rest a few hours before continuing. She had planned to cross the desert in the middle of the night to save them from the heat, as they had no air conditioning.
After several hours, she began to notice a large truck following them. She would pull into a truck stop and it would pull in and park behind her.
Then she would take care of the kids, use the restroom and leave.
She saw it following her again, and she noticed after hours that the truck was always right behind her or nearby. After many hours of this, she began to get concerned. Not knowing what else to do, she just kept watching and paying attention. She tried pulling over and changing her route, but could not shake it.
Now she became more concerned – even fearful.
Who was this person? What did he want?
Why was he following her? Was he out to hurt her or her children?
She just kept paying attention. Again she pulled in to a truck stop, lovingly tucked in the sleepy children, took care of her own needs and got back in the car. And there he was!
This trucker was always behind her – pulling over, waiting, and coming out behind her as she left the truck stop. It was unnerving.
Finally, she was fired up with a fierce love and desire to protect her children. Determined, she got out and walked straight over to the truck and she confronted the driver, saying, “Who are you and what do you want? Why are you following us?”
The driver stepped back, struck by the power of her fierceness, her love and determination – but not totally surprised.
He said, “Wait! I am not following you to harm you. I work for a large trucking company. One of our drivers noticed a woman traveling alone with small babies in the car, and he radioed to see if we could help. He wanted us to follow and protect you and make sure that you get safely to your destination.
Lots of our big trucks look the same, and different drivers have been watching over you.
So here we are, and I want to offer you a meal. Can I please take you and the family inside to eat?”
Akwa’s heart melted.
Her knees became weak and her head bowed down in relief. She looked into the kind eyes of the balding trucker and, still unable to speak, she just nodded.
Astonished and grateful, they all came in.
It was the first time little Robert had ever gone to a restaurant and ordered what he wanted. It was the best meal of his life. He got a hamburger with fries – and ice cream! Everything he’d always wanted to eat.
The truck driver was blown away by the depth of gratitude and appreciation he saw in the young boy. He got out  pictures to show them of his two small sons waiting for him at home, and they laughed together, because in one picture, his boys were eating ice cream, too.
Robert’s Ni Mama had acted fiercely to protect her precious children, not even worrying about herself.
She felt the power of giving and kindness. And the connection in it.
That made her determined to use kindness  and caring for others (not blaming), as part of her life purpose – her plan. And she wanted to have gratitude each day for the kindness and protection she receives.
She then began passing it on to others she comes across.
With her huge heart, she started taking every opportunity – and even going out of her way to create more opportunities – to express her gratitude to everyone she interacts with. It always reminds her of how much help and protection she received that night and always has, throughout her life.
And it fills her heart.
And that just brings a new round of yet more kindness and assistance from her world. She literally loves to shower people with her own grounded caring and appreciation.
It just reminds her again of the miracle of life.
If you are working hard to achieve your goals, and would love to let your heart be filled by a miracle…
If you want to reduce your frustration, fear and the effort you put in to your work…
If you love secret missions and want to offer encouragement and appreciation to people you know, and even to those you don’t know, …
If you want to instill a sense of wonder into your life…
If you want to honor your life purpose with fierce love and kindness…
Fibromyalgia Support Groups – Do They Help?
Do Fibromyalgia Support Groups Make A Real Difference?
If So, How Do They Help?
Jill had that intense pain in her legs again.
It hurt even more now, so much that it was an effort to focus on her work. She was still pushing herself to complete it.
Fibromyalgia Support Groups - Do They Help?The hardest part was that she just didn’t want to even say anything to her co-workers anymore.
She never forgot that look Mike gave her. It just oozed with disdain, and his opinion that the pain was all in her head.
He might as well have said to her, “Why don’t you just grow up already!”
‘Nobody really cares, much less appreciates me’, went Jill’s thoughts.
You know that feeling.
It’s like the world just goes on by without acknowledging your existence, much less noticing you’ve been working hard. Sometimes you just want to give up.
There are people who call it ‘just another slow day in hell’.
No. There really was no support for her out there. That was not news. Again it was up to Jill to find the resources to get herself through it by herself. She felt so alone.
That’s one of the most difficult things about Fibro. There are times when it is hard to find any support. You’re on your own to survive the pain – and to keep your life going in spite of it.
So can fibromyalgia support groups make a real difference for fibro sufferers?  And if so, how do they help?
The answer is …
Yes… Because there is real pain, and researchers are only just starting to learn the basis of it.
But there is still not a lot of awareness and recognition of it in the world at large.
So there is often NOT much support or sympathy available.  It is hard to find the help you need.
But it can be done. One little piece at a time.
According to Mayo Clinic specialists,
Fibromyalgia Sufferers Tend To Be
:
  • Perfectionists, with high expectations of themselves, that are
  • Prone to push themselves through the pain to do the projects they are committed to, and
  • Have great difficulty being able to relax.
It is known that stress and pressure can exacerbate the pain. And anticipation of pain can also heighten the experience of it.  Although it is very important to everyone, this makes relaxation and appreciation all the more important to the fibro patient.
Instead of anticipating pain, you can
LEARN TO RELAX and LET GO OF STRESS
:
  • Breathe deeply and slowly (do several times)
  • Imagine a radiant energy flowing into you as you breathe in, and carrying out the stress & tension as you breathe out.  (Do 3-5 times)
  • Find things you can deeply appreciate in yourself (may include qualities or things you have done).
When the world (or your life) is slow with appreciation and recognition, it’s a good bet you’re not seeing yourself as worthy, or feeling any appreciation for yourself – or your hard work.
You don’t have to dwell in resentment and anger and wait for the world to change – or try to get it to change. No.
That’s very hard to do.
Come back to where you have some control, where you can change something and make a difference. You may not think about it that way right now, but …
That is the world of YOU.
You can stop and look at yourself and acknowledge yourself for whatever your efforts and intentions have been.
You know better than anyone the frustration and discouragement – and the challenges! – you have faced.
So you are in the best position to appreciate what you have been doing or attempting to do. (And this is regardless of your results!)  Did you know Edison did over 1000 experiments before he figured out the electrical connection that let him invent the light bulb! He did not consider all those experiments failures. Just steps to his triumph!
Try this:
EXPERIENCE IN SELF ACKNOWLEDGMENT
  • Take several slow deep breaths as described in the ‘Let Go of Stress’ section above.
  • Write down 3 things that you appreciate about yourself on paper (May include qualities or things you have done).
  • Give gold stars of acknowledgment to yourself (or something wonderful to you) for doing this!
  • Risk sharing your appreciations with someone you trust at some point – if you choose.
  • Write down what you most value and appreciate about 2 other people, if you want to do even more . You may want to share it with them at some point. That will often deepen the relationship.
Whether or not you choose to actually go to a fibromyalgia support group, or in addition to it, feel free to use techniques offered here – and in the resources introduced in this blog – to learn to relax and release stress.
Miracle Mindshift! Success Stories
Kevin Wilke "During the time I was using the Miracle Mindshift, out of nowhere significantly increased the money into my business while at the same significantly decreased the time I was working in my business.
So now, this is something that came out of nowhere because of this program.
And now... a new branding opportunity has opened and is going to be a great new income opportunity and a bigger business!"
- Kevin Wilke
Hear Kevin's LIVE Success Story:
Lynn Benjamin"Something so beautiful happens each day as I listen to the daily Miracle Mindshift. The best way I can describe the experience is simultaneously getting juiced up a vibrational level, or more, while getting settled right into, grounded into the center of my being.
Today, while listening to day 15, SEVERAL lights in the mansion turned on. A rapid download of aha's begin to make my heart feel different. I'm integrating now, and can say that I will now experience the four directions on a physical level, rather than having the four directions as just concepts. How part of the earth we are. I look forward to a deepening of this physical connection with the four directions.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, I'm so grateful!"
- Lynn Benjamin
StacyQuinn"I went through the day 11 content, and I was hearing the same critical chatter in my mind. I realized how these rules, this previous programming was resisting my affirmations.
When I did my verbal affirmations, the chatter in my head was actually "talking" over my verbal affirmations. I was inches away from a mirror, looking directly in my own eyes, saying my affirmations and the voice in my head said:
"How could a gift to the world be so ugly?"
I was surprised by my own reaction. I started laughing. I mean belly laughing. I'm still laughing as I write this.
I don't know who that dude was but he's very rude and he's not my friend. I now know what he sounds like and how he talks.
I wanted to send this email to thank you. Because I'm not listening to that jerk anymore."
- Stacy Quinn
Monica_Leccese"I completed my first "Mindshift" after having battled the cacophony of voices and Master Trickster that seem to come along with changing thought patterns. I devoted a portion of each day to the practice, although not the same time each day: to the imaging, writing, and speaking of my declarations and affirmations. I recorded each "Gift" that I received and was sure to be grateful for each one, every day. By the end of the month my declarations were manifesting although not in an "overwhelming" manner. Still...at the end...I was so very grateful. I decided to commence another "shift" ...   I would create a circle, image my declarations, state them...but on a lesser scale than a full practice. After that decision I started to create a circle where I would light a flame to each direction. .......and that's when it happened......I shifted. I can only describe the feeling as the most amazing I have ever experienced: time, the world, my perspective...stopped; the energy rushing through me was so empowering it was nearly overwhelming. I had never before felt so alive, so en pointe in the moment, so...on...purpose. I had rubbed the magic lantern and the genie has held my hand ever since. I have been getting EVERYTHING I have been asking for, to the EXACT degree I have asked. Remember...you get what you ask for."
