I’m just beginning to use Google+ Hangouts to promote my own books and to work with authors.
maybe you’re like me, and you’re a little shaky on the whole hangouts thing. For me, part of the issue is that I’m mostly blind, and while Google does some great things for accessibility, Hangouts and HangoutsOnAir could use some work.
(BTW If you know anyone inside Google, have them reach out to me and I will GLADLY help make it more accessible for the blind!)
Well, I’ve never met a technology I couldn’t manage eventually, with a little persistence, patience and poise; it’s just a matter of “making friends with G+ Hangouts.”

Toni Morrison Does First-Ever Google Plus Hangout Book Signing
Feb. 25, 2013
Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison will participate in a first-of-its-kind digital book signing and a Google+ Hangout on Air at the Google New York offices.
Using a Wacom tablet, Morrison will sign digital versions of her newest national bestseller, Home, published by the Knopf Doubleday Group, and will be signing the Vintage Books paperback edition of Home for Google employees.
The live Hangout celebrates the paperback release of Home, as well as the culmination of Black History Month events sponsored by the Black Googler Network. The event starts at 3 p.m. EST on February 27, 2013.
During the Hangout Morrison will chat with book clubs around the country. This is the first nation-wide event that Morrison has done with book clubs. The Hangout will be livestreamed on Google+ and YouTube and promoted on Google Play. Fans can watch the Hangout in real time and submit questions electronically.

Inspirational Thoughts on Peace: How Can Young People Promote World Peace?
The sun has been throwing a FIT this week!
Major magnetic storms are throwing fire balls around. The Northern Lights are especially spectacular.
To me, I can only imagine how awesome it would be to see the whole night sky fill with color. Nature is a miracle prayer in motion!

The most spectacular view of nature that is still a living miracle prayer to me I have had is looking up at the stars near the Grand Canyon at 3 AM. I was there watching for the meteor shower. The stars took my breath away and still I remember how magnificently close they felt.
I took that trip 25 years ago…so you can tell it stuck with me.

Too many people only reserve fun and play for a weekend or a special event.
Why?
Any day is a good day to have a little fun. You’ll actually work better when you PLAY a little every day!
What are you doing for fun today?
It doesn’t matter what day of the week today is or how old you are.
What I’m doing for fun today is reading Smokin’ Seventeen by Janet Evanovich. Waht fun! I’m also making movie plans with a friend for Saturday. Don’t know what we’re seeing yet.

Inspirational Thoughts: What Are You Doing for FUN today?
I am SO excited! I am taking a vacation to see 1 of my adopted family members. Someone so close and dear to me that we consider each other family rather than only friends.
We have not seen each other since I moved to Missouri, almost 8 years ago. SO we are both thrilled to see each other again and have some adventures too.
I will be in Mesa/Sedona, Arizona, in the middle of March.
We already have some plans:
Seeing Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock & the other energy vortex sites.

Seeing guitarist Robin Miller
Riding the Desert Belle for a scenic boat ride on Saguaro Lake.
Maybe taking in an inning or 2 of the Chicago Cubs spring training practice.
Visiting with Ira and Cory from Mojo Video Marketing, who are friends of mine, and possibly some other entrepreneur friends as well.

What Should I Do in Sedona and Mesa Arizona?
Some people will look around and see evidence of the world “going to Hell in a hand basket.”
Some see collusion and conspiracies around every corner.
Others see abundance and well-being all around. They seem to be able to make their life better and better.
Some see only beauty all around them despite what others may see or say.
What is the difference? Which perceptions lead to more well being, and which lead to degeneration and despair?
Read the inspirational quotes from Abraham:

Wherever you are in that continuum is where you are at this moment. Situations change the moment perception changes.
How do you increase feelings of well-being to bring about MORE well-being?
Here are some simple steps you can take to enhance your feeling that all is RIGHT and well with the world.
Gratitude:
Feelings and demonstrations of gratitude switch on well being like nohting else. Say thank you for every kind word or deed.
Write a thank you note each day. As your gratitude increases, you cannot help but feel that all is well.
When someone complements you, simply say “thank y ou so much,” and do not deflect or deny.
Attention on what you LIKE:
Most people tend to put much more thought and effort into complainig and grumbling.
Where thoughts go, energy flows.
Imagine the difference when you decide noticing what is RIGHT and what you LIKE about the situation.
Praising yuor spouse for doing things that please you are well known to bring about mroe actions that please you. Finding something you like about a person will increase good will between you.
Smile:
Smiling actually brings about chemical changes within the body. This is not new age fluff or conjecture.
There was a study involving people reading the newspaper with a pencil either in their lips, causing a frown, or in their teeth, causing a smile. The smilers remembered more good news and reported feeling better.
There is a big word that describes this: psychoneuroimmunology. Throw that word out at a party if you want to impress people with your verbal prowess. It simply means that the thoughts, chemistry and immune system are linked.
Create a new habit:
Any focus of attention is a habit. Whether that habit is gossiping or saying thank you. Developing good habits is a mtter of focusing your attention and guiding yourself day by day to showing up in the world the way you desire.

What Can This Cat Teach You About Follow Your BLiss?
Inspirational thoughts don’t always need to be deep and meditative. Sometimes inspirational thoughts can come from a twist of the mind to make old things new.
The mind can be like a solid anchor locking you into beliefs and thought patterns that keep you stuck.
OR the mind can make old things new and make the ordinary extraordinary.
How can throwing out trash become fun?
Volkswagon looked for innovative ways to bring fun into life. They ran a competition, and the winners are posted on www.FunTheory.com with the winning videos also on Y ouTube (of course!).
Organizations and concerned citizens have tried to think of ways to keep people from littering for decades.
I remember one commercial about a Native American man standing next to a trash can with litter strewn all around. A sad tear rolled slowly down his cheek. This did nothing to keep people from littering. It merely increased their tendency to feel sad upon seeing litter.
Robert Cialdini, famous for his book Influence, reported on results of 50 market research studies in his book YES! Chapter 3 focuses on making the “bandwagon effect” work for you rather than against.
Putting attention on the desired action brings about more change than focusing on what is to be stopped or minimized.
“Focusing the audience on all people who do engage in the positive behavior can be a very influential strategy.”

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in increasing influence.
Bringing fun and play into ordinary life is also a great way to bring about positive change. The Fun Theory challenge is a perfect example.
This video makes me laugh. I’ve watched it several times just because I love the sound effects. Someone came up with the idea to put a speaker into a public trash can so that when rubbish is tossed in, it sounds as if it is falling far deep.

Curiosity, amazement and FUN cause people to WANT to throw away their trash instead of littering.
Bringing FUN into Everyday Life
Imagine how much more pleasant any “chore” can be when an element of fun and play is added.
Here’s how to do it yourself:
1. Write down any task that you do not think of as fun or one you tend to feel is “hard”.
2. Ask your brain to come up with a game or an idea that will make the task fun.
3. Implement the most fun and innovative idea your brain shares with you.
4. Enjoy the feelings you experience when the task you found hard or not fun suddenly becomes interesting.
5. Smile and notice your smile. This will anchor smiling as a way to bring about the same feelings within you.
A Real Life Example
