This past month we have talked with you about topics ranging from how to find out what is missing from your life to what to do when you have lost your passion.
All of these topics come back to one thing: allowing you to make the most of your life and ultimately find your true purpose.
Finding your purpose on this Earth is at the root of your struggle. That is why many people look for guidance from the Native American medicine wheel. There is a medicine wheel for every situation in life, and this is no different.
The teachings of most medicine wheels generally start like a compass beginning in the east and moving clockwise – stopping in each direction to discuss the significance of its purpose, until the teacher and the student has completed the circle.
In reality, you will ‘walk’ around the circle again and again. And there are many layers of understanding that unfold as you delve deeper into the medicine wheel teachings.
In fact, you could dedicate your entire life to just one of the sacred directions, and still have much to learn about it.
Ancient Wisdom of Fire Energy (East)
Watching even a small flame — a candle, or a small campfire or a fireplace — can cause deep changes in your heart and breathing rhythm.
Your body responds naturally to its presence. Your breathing slows, your heart rate slows and becomes deeper.
As you gaze at the flames you may begin to enter a meditative state. What has been scattered and chaotic in your Mind may become clearer and more ordered.
Happiness is easier to feel when you have a clear Mind … You are more aware of Courage as it is gifted to you in that calm, happy state. You are closer to your True Purpose in the light of your transformation!
Ancient Wisdom of Earth Energy (South)
How long has it been since you walked barefoot outdoors? Do you remember the feel of warm sand between your toes? Or the cool smoothness of grass beneath your feet?
When you felt those things, you were in close touch with the Earth … your body and soul were in harmony with her. Can you give yourself space — and place — to feel those things again?
Your awareness of your Place can be as simple as that — once again connecting … heart to heart … with Mother Earth.
As you walk your Life’s Path, your connections once again become so important.
- Are you in the right place?
- Are you on the right path?
It’s important to raise those questions. And, if the answers don’t ring true for you, this is the perfect time to look within yourself for the answers that Do ring true for you.
In your connection to Mother Earth … open your heart and mind to seek the answers.
Ancient Wisdom of Water Energy (West)
In the west you will find the wisdom of water, and your emotions.
The Ancient Ones taught that, to seek one’s True Path, it is necessary to look past the Mind, which desires order and planning … and to move beyond the Heart’s demands for immediate response and experience.
As you look deeper within yourself, you are forming a new, higher awareness of Purpose. As you go within, so you are climbing to that new place … where the logic of the Mind cannot be relied on; where the emotion of the Heart must not bend the will.
Ancient Wisdom of Air Energy (North)
Air is the element of the Mind, and when you put your mind to work on your behalf … AMAZING things happen!
Have you spent time looking within your heart-mind, drawing from the core of your power … to see your dreams?
Have you made a list of your dreams … those that follow the true bent of your nature? Those that unlock your heart’s desires?
You are well on your way to finding your True Purpose … True Happiness … in “real-izing” your Dreams! That’s right — making your Dreams “real” … a REALITY!
Combining the ancient wisdoms of fire (east), earth (south), water (west), and air (north) will allow you to use the Native American medicine wheel to find your true purpose.
