Lost Your Verve for Your Business? Rediscover Your Passion for Working With Purpose

Lost Your Verve for Your Business?  Rediscover your passion for Working With Purpose.

Lost Your Verve for Your Business? Rediscover Your Passion for Working With Purpose 275x183

Is your business leaving you depressed and deflated?

Does it take everything you have just to ‘make it through the day’ at work?

Do you find yourself hating many of the things you ‘have’ to do for your business?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then you’re probably suffering from a strong case of working without purpose!

That’s right!  If you’ve forgotten what inspired you to start your business in the first place, it’s inevitable that at some point you’ll stop working with purpose, and your work will begin to feel like drudgery.  Your day-to-day work activities will no longer excite you.  And you’ll have lost any sense of fulfillment.

It’s no wonder that you feel like you’ve lost your verve!

So, what do you do when this happens?

The first major step to take is to look the situation square in the proverbial face and come to terms with yourself about it.

Sounds simple right?  Yet you’d be surprised just how difficult this can be when your business is ‘at stake‘.

But here’s the truth: nothing will change for the positive until you acknowledge what isn’t working!

As challenging as this may be to do, the upside is that once you do, you’ll be poised to re-align yourself with your purpose.  And when you re-align with your purpose, you will be ready to transform your business and create a different future!

The story below from Michelle Mains is a fabulous example of this.

I Have a Passion

I have a friend who used to run a flower shop.  “Anna” is a doll – fun, warm and thoughtful.  As I was getting to know her, she admitted that she was glad she didn’t have the business anymore.  It turns out the shop had been nothing like she had expected.

Anna and her husband refinanced their home multiple times.  Repeatedly they found themselves pumping cash into their business, but that was only until the next crisis arose.

Anna often worked extra hours for months at a time when she had employee problems or staffing gaps.  It wasn’t what she had in mind when they bought the business, especially as she tried to juggle time with her children and large, extended family.

She was complaining to a friend of ours for the umpteenth time when he suddenly said to her, “Hey – why don’t you just sell that business?”

“SELL IT?!  Are you kidding me?  After all the time, energy, and money we’ve put into it?  I couldn’t do that.  No – I wouldn’t do that.  But, but, but…maybe I just need to sell that business.”

Anna was so surprised when the words came out of her mouth.  A goal she had worked so hard to achieve – owning her own company, might be coming to an end.  But as she went home that night and thought it through, she realized he may be right.  She said to me, “I realized I only liked a small part of it.  I didn’t like working with the City to obtain permits.  I didn’t like arguing with farmers or wholesalers about prices.  I didn’t like going to the accountant every quarter to work on my taxes.  And I CERTAINLY didn’t like firing people!”

As you can imagine, they did sell the shop.  And Anna, as well as her whole family, was much, much happier.  It turns out that she got a job at a church, and part of her duties include helping brides who want to rent the church with their floral arrangements.  She gets to do all the things she liked to do, and skip the ones she didn’t.

I admire Anna.  She made a brave decision, admitted what wasn’t working, and moved on with her life before things got worse. I’ve had a lot of goals in my life, and I’ve achieved a lot.  But I can tell you that it’s also all right to let go of a dream, or let it morph into something else, however bittersweet that may be.  Let your natural gift call to you, and try to leave everything else behind, even if it’s only for the rest of this week.  In the words of novelist George Sand, “I know that I have found fulfillment.  I have an object in life, a task…a passion.”

Lost Sight of What Is Important? Time for Working With Purpose

Lost Sight of What Is Important? Time for Working With Purpose.

Lost-Sight-of-What-Is-Important-Try-Working-With-Purpose-275x221Jamie had created her interior design business many years ago. What had motivated her to do so was her desire to express herself creatively and have freedom to do things her way.

When she first launched her business, she wore every single hat.  Everything was up to her.

For a while it was a lot of fun.

However, it wasn’t too long before it exhausted and overwhelmed her.  She realized it was time to grow.

Over the ensuing years, little by little, she grew her team.  Her business became quite successful and she became well known in her field.

One day she suddenly realized that somewhere along the way she had lost sight of her dream.  Everything seemed chaotic and disjointed in her office.  As she looked around her office, even though her team was working hard, there was no joy in what they were doing.  She saw in them the same thing that she felt.

She cast her mind back into the past and remembered her original dreams of creativity and freedom, and the fulfillment that these would bring her.  Far from feeling free, she was now feeling trapped by her own business.  She had no time for herself and seemed to be consumed every day, dealing with the minutia of the day and one team member after another who needed something from her.

Where had the passion gone that she originally had for her interior design business?

She felt like all the creative juices were being sucked out of her, and she felt lost in the middle of it all.

Lost Sight of What Is Important? Time for Working With Purpose.

Then one day, Suzie, one of her team members came to her in serious distress.  Suzie needed her help and she needed it now.  One of her children was seriously ill and she needed to take a leave of absence so that she could be at the hospital with her child.

This shook Jamie awake.  Of course, she told Suzie to do whatever was necessary to take care of her family.  And as soon as the other team members heard, without question, they all stepped up to the plate and filled in for Suzie.

Jamie saw very clearly that she’d been half asleep at the wheel.  She realized how precious life is and how she had been taking so much for granted.

Jamie had part of the equation correct for a fulfilled work life, but had missed an important element.  She had not been appreciating her amazing team members, each of whom had families and challenges, and joys and problems in their lives outside of the business.

And Jamie saw how little she knew about them.  No wonder her business had felt so disjointed and void of joy.

The more she thought about this, she saw that working with purpose was the missing element to creating cohesion with her and her team.

How can the power of working with purpose help you in business?:

  • It helps you and your team align on the vision and goals.
  • It quickly helps you and your team to clarify your priorities and focus on what’s most important.
  • It is a powerful attractor magnet to draw great people to you, including team members, clients and vendors.
  • It empowers your team to be cohesive and harmonizes your environment.
  • It keeps you in the creative flow of the wonderful environment you’ve created.

Jamie took a look at her life and realized she had so much to be grateful for.  She made sure to do whatever she could to support Suzie while she and her family went through the health crisis with her child.

And Jamie made it a point to appreciate each and every member of her amazing team, every day.

What’s wonderful about working with purpose is that it combines powerful focus with finding yummy meaning in what you’re up to in the world.  Isn’t that what life is really about?  If you’re ready to deepen your experience of your business and your life, to be clearer and have more success, and to enjoy it all more, click HERE or click the Buy The Book NOW! link on this site to get your copy of Ignite Your Life!  How To Get From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be TODAY!

How Can I Be Working With Purpose If I Do Not Like My Job?

Angela was at a turning point, both mentally and spiritually in her life.  She was sick of her job and was unsure what to do about it.

It wasn’t that she hated the job itself — it was just that she no longer felt that she was working with purpose.  She made good money and had a good life, but none of that really seemed to matter.

She felt that something was missing in her life, and she knew she needed to do something about it before that empty feeling she had swallowed her up.

She wanted to be working with purpose.

Are there days when you wonder:

—  “How did I get here?”

— “Where do I go from here?”

How can I be working with purpose if I do not like my job?

If you don’t like your job, how can you be working with purpose?

You might think it’s out of your reach, but… YES! — you can be working with purpose, even if you don’t like your job.

  • Remember that you’re in control of your life, because you have the power to choose
  • Recognize that HOW you do something is much more important than WHAT you do
  • Express your innate gifts and talents in your current situation
  • Begin creating your life, deliberately

The first step is not quitting your job and finding something else.  One thing to remember is that your job does not define who you are. You can begin working with purpose at work — and in your home life.

The greatest thing about being who you are is that you have free will, which means you have the power of choice!  When you forget that, you sink into thinking you are a victim.  That diminishes your light, and there’s nothing further from the truth.

You are a magnificent, talented and unique individual — and the world is waiting for you to share your gifts!

There’s no need to wait to start feeling that what you’re doing matters.  Bring your positive attitude and willingness to serve others into whatever you’re doing… right NOW!

You have strengths that make you who you are.  That’s part of what you can contribute to every situation in your life.  Be fearless and generous in sharing your gifts.  You’ll be amazed at the number of lives you’ll touch, and in doing so, you’ll receive much more than you give.

Your first step can be simple and take as little time as an hour.

Get out a notebook and start writing down all the things that bring you great joy, and that you feel energized by.  But don’t be superficial about it!  Really dig deep and get down to what is really meaningful to you.  Ask yourself, “What really moves me to tears?”  What stirs your soul?

Then think about what really upsets you.  Why?  Because at the root of what upsets you is something that you feel is very, very wrong — it opposes or violates your core values.  This can help you find a cause to support, and there you are… working with purpose as a volunteer can add great meaning to your life immediately!

Don’t feel bad if you don’t know how to get in touch with your life purpose… you’re NOT alone!

Every day I meet people who are desperately seeking it, but unable to find it on their own.

One way to get clarity on your next step in life is to give yourself the gift of a Life Purpose Discovery Session.  With expert guidance, in just 60 minutes you’ll become clearly aware of what you can do to take your first step to working with purpose — no matter WHAT you’re doing now.

It wasn’t until Angela found a Life Purpose Discovery Session that it all clicked for her.  This was the most exciting thing that Angela had come across in decades!  She CAN have her cake and eat it too!  And so can YOU!

Take the leap in working with purpose!  Just CLICK HERE for your chance to start living your life… on purpose!

What To Do When Working With Purpose Feels Hard?

What To Do When Working With Purpose Feels Hard?

working with purposeDo you find that it’s challenging at times to sustain your energy and focus for your business?  Are there times when you secretly wish that you didn’t own your business and that you weren’t the team leader?

It’s perfectly natural to go through this from time to time.  In fact, it would be surprising if you never did.  Congratulations, you’re amazingly human!

Have you noticed that you get tunnel vision when you’re focused on working with purpose and trying to keep your team all fired up to do the same?  And have you also noticed that this strategy doesn’t always work?

As your team’s fearless leader, it is definitely essential that you find ways to sustain the energy and the focus, and most important of all, the morale in your business.

As is probably obvious, what this involves is something different than what you’ve been doing up until now.  It is counterintuitive and very likely it is the opposite of what you have been doing.

What to do when working with purpose feels hard?

Firstly, do something that inspires you.  This might be at your place of business, or it might be outside.  Wherever it is, it’s important that you as a human being are doing something regularly that inspires and uplifts you.

It can be the simplest of things like being selective in the music that you listen to rather than just listening to what comes on the radio as you turn it on.  Choose your reading materials wisely and select materials to read that lift your spirits.  The little time that you have to read, make it count.

Pay attention who you surround yourself with.  This includes your team members at the office and especially your friends and family.  Be diligent about surrounding yourself with inspiring and uplifting people.  It makes a HUGE difference!

If you happen to have people who are somewhat negative in your life, it is not necessary to completely excommunicate them.  However, pay attention to how much time you spend with them and how much you let them affect you.

For your business, a great idea is to create an Advisory Board and fill it with inspiring business leaders who you want to learn from and whose input and contribution you’re excited to have.  This can make an incredible difference in keeping you on fire about your business.

It’s important to take breaks.  Both short breaks during the day as well as longer ones, such as long weekends and vacations.  Can you remember the last time you took a REAL vacation?  If you can’t, it’s definitely time!

Part of your job as business owner is to make sure that you replenish your energy, refresh your spirit and regenerate yourself throughout the day and throughout the week.  You owe it to yourself, your team and your business to be energized.  Pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion won’t serve you or anyone else.

Sometimes a simple change of routine can make all the difference in the world.  It’s so easy to get stuck in habits and patterns and “This is just how I do it” mode.  So from time to time just changing your routine can be like hitting the reset button, and with this, new ideas and perspectives will flow.

Feed your soul, whatever this means to you.  It will serve you brilliantly to make it through those times when working with purpose feels hard.

Feeding your soul means doing something special for yourself that replenishes, inspires and energizes you, for example:

  • Taking a yoga class.
  • Meditating.
  • Having a special date with your partner.
  • Preparing a special meal for your family and all sitting down to eat it together.
  • Turning off the phones and the computer and playing with your children.

Or, if it feeds your soul to serve others out in the community, to make a difference in some small or big way, feeding your soul could look like:

  • Going to visit seniors.
  • Teaching children to read.
  • Helping out with feeding the homeless.

Whatever really touches your heart and feeds your soul, go do that.

Finally, when working with purpose really feels hard, the simplest thing to do that is amazingly great is to do something fun with your team.  It could be as simple as having a picnic on Friday, for example.  Or it could be more lavish, perhaps taking your whole team on an outing.  The point is to all hang out together and have a great time together, getting to know each other while doing something fun.  Pick something that everyone will like and have a blast!

Remember to pay attention to yourself. Notice when you’re driving yourself hard, pushing through, being focused and intentional, keeping an eye on the vision and the goals and the metrics of your company.

When you’re working with purpose and it starts to feel hard, remember to balance it out with something rejuvenating.   To help you remember what’s most important, to invigorate your soul, and enjoy life, click HERE or go to http://igniteyourlifebook.com/21daychallenge to take the 21-Day “I AM a Gift to the World” Challenge TODAY!  You will absolutely love it!

Is Working With Purpose Only for Workaholics?

Is working with purpose only for workaholics?

Is working with purpose only for workaholics? When you think of working with purpose, does a feeling of overwhelm engulf you? Does it feel like just one more thing to think about in your already crazy busy life and packed schedule?

And when you think of who might actually be doing this, is the first person who comes to mind your very best workaholic friend? And isn’t there an element of heaviness and suffering when you look at their life?

However working with purpose has nothing whatsoever to do with suffering.

It doesn’t have to be like that. It’s simply about working smart and being so connected to what you’re doing–because it’s driven by a purpose–that it actually doesn’t feel like work at all!

What it takes is you and your team being inspired, powerfully focused and in design.

YOU get to choose how it goes – always!

And you ALWAYS have choice, especially when you think you don’t! Where you ALWAYS have choice is how you react to what’s showing up and how you respond to people.

So choosing to work with purpose will have every day be a great experience rather than one that you dread.

Is working with purpose only for workaholics?

The first key is to figure out what the purpose is for what you’re doing. Perhaps it’s to make tons of money so you can make a HUGE difference in the world, or to create a stable and wonderful place to work so everybody on the team loves working there! Or maybe it’s to put your children through college.

It doesn’t matter how lofty or modest your purpose is, as long as it’s meaningful and important to YOU!

The other key piece to working with purpose is being focused and purposeful. This all resides in how well you manage your organization, and most importantly how well suited your team members are to their roles. Ideally they will be perfectly matched to their skills, talents and experience, and work well in your team. Then everybody will LOVE what they’re doing, they will be completely dedicated–and they will never leave!

Working with purpose can be the MOST fun you ever have! Here are the steps:

  • Know your purpose: What are you doing it for?
  • Remember you always have choice—so choose this way of working.
  • Be inspired and inspire your team!
  • Work smart: Be focused and purposeful.

When you fit all these pieces together, it creates this amazing environment where everybody works wonderfully well together!

When you accomplish this, then you can let go of the old you that was driven like a workaholic and step into being this new leader who is focused, happy, and purposeful—and a joy to be around!

A fabulous and incredibly easy way to connect with your purpose and the inspiration that you already are is by taking the 21-Day “I AM a Gift to the World” Challenge. Click HERE or go to http://igniteyourlifebook.com/21daychallenge to sign up today!

To your magnificence!

What If Others Don’t Share Your Passion for Working With Purpose?

Do you often find yourself alone at the office, the only one who’s staying late?   Are you tired of hearing resigned sighs when asking for something extra from your team?  Are you struggling to get your team to be as passionate as you are about your business?

Working With PurposeIf any of this applies to you, rest assured there is hope. It’s going to take making some changes—and the first one is to begin working with purpose.

In this case, working with purpose is about engaging your team in such a way that, even though it’s your business, they participate as if it’s their own business.

Each one of them owns whatever role they hold—and they truly get that their contribution matters.  What will happen when you achieve this is you will now have a team of leaders — people who are completely self-motivated, and the results will be very different.

It’s all about engagement.

Perhaps somewhere along the line, you became more like a mother figure, and your requests of your team members now feel like nagging.  So they either stay away from you, avoid you like teens resisting parents, or they do only what they have to do as if they’re being asked to clean their room.  They are far from eager, and they’re definitely not proactive with you.

If you want them to step up in some way, invite them to do that. Have you stopped asking for what you want from them?  Is it because you believe they won’t deliver?  If so, that needs to stop. You need to be calling forth each person’s greatness–they will rise like cream and step into the potential that you see in them if you simply ask it of them.

The first step is to look at what’s working in the interaction between you and your team and what isn’t. Identify who on your team is engaged and who isn’t. Those that aren’t are the ones to address one-on-one rather than taking them on team-wide.

The key here is to not react to the behaviors that are the opposite of working with purpose, but to do what you can to ignite the passion inside each team member.  It won’t be the same for each person.  And this is usually very easy. They will be able to tell you what is missing for them to be working optimally and keeps them from enjoying their job.

Amazingly enough, there is no heavy lifting for you to do.  They are going to have the answers.  You’ll learn what isn’t working from them!

Find out from each person what would have them enjoy their position and their work much more.  Once you find out what would cause them to light up and really have much more fun at work, all there is to do is to help them get there. In the process, they will naturally be more proactive with you because they will be more engaged.

Another really important thing to do is to play together as a team–-to reach the point where everyone is working with purpose and really aligned, as well as enjoying the process! It’s as important to do this as it is to work well together, and it’s most commonly forgotten.

Schedule random fun activities.  For example, take Friday afternoon off and go to do some fun thing as a team like have a barbeque, or hold a potluck outdoors somewhere–or even right there in the office.

It can be incredibly simple or more lavish, whatever is the best fit for you.  Whatever the size or scope of the activity, what’s important about it is that everyone will get to know each other and enjoy each other’s company—and connect with each other in ways that don’t happen in the course of working together.  This will make a HUGE difference!

What if others don’t share your passion for working with purpose?

To get everyone in your office working passionately together as a cohesive team, follow these easy steps:

  • Take a look, from your perspective, at what’s working and what’s not working. This can be the office as a whole, as well as individual and team dynamics.
  • Come together with your team. Re-establish where you are wanting to go as a company and ask what improvements they might make.
  • Have individual meetings with each of the team members who are not passionately engaged.  Find out what would have them love their job.
  • Start to implement the changes they request.
  • Check in with them regularly to see how they’re doing and if the changes are working for them.
  • Schedule random fun activities for the whole team.

As you implement all of the above, watch how quickly and easily your entire team is now working with purpose—and not only that, they’re all having a GREAT time doing so!

Do you find yourself “avoiding” rather than creating in your business and your life?  Are you ready to focus on your purpose—what you’re really here to do?  If so, click HERE for the 21-Day “I AM a Gift to the World” Challenge.

Does Working With Purpose Have to Be Serious?

There is no rule that working with purpose has to be deathly serious.

Working With Purpose 8What it does mean is that you and your team have taken the time to create a vision and a plan that contain clear goals and measurables to achieve with timelines.

Working with purpose means all this–and there is no rule that there has to be any suffering or seriousness!

In fact, to get the very best out of you and your team, it’s a really great idea to make sure you’re having a GREAT time while you’re working!

Have you noticed that when you’re enjoying yourself, it absolutely doesn’t feel like work?! That’s true for most people.

Creating an environment where there’s a spirit of fun, collaboration, and acknowledgement, is truly business heaven on earth!

When everyone’s enjoying the process, whatever that is, nobody will be noticing things like time, or how much there is to do.  It will all seem much easier, much more fluid, and definitely much more fun!

You’ll attract people who are committed, who are excited to be there, and who are high-performance team members.

Does working with purpose have to be serious business?

What are some secrets to ensure that your business environment will be productive as well as fun?

  • Have a clear vision and plan that your team is aligned with.
  • Set up empowered communication practices for when there are issues.
  • Be sure the jobs you and of each your employees do is what each of you are good at and love to do.  If not, redistribute the jobs to better fit people’s strengths and passions.
  • Schedule regular fun and play times with your team.

The name of the game is to set it up so that it’s enjoyable!

Not only does working with purpose not have to be serious business, it’s a spectacular idea to make it as much fun as possible!  Does this mean that there can never be serious moments?  Of course not!  There are always moments to hunker down and get focused.

If though for the majority of time there’s a spirit of collaboration and fun, and everyone is motivated and inspired to give their all and do their best—the results will be spectacular and you’ll all have a great time achieving them!

As you move through your workday, are you having fun, or are you serious and heavy?  Want to bring joy and levity to your work and all aspects of your life? Click HERE for the 21-Day “I AM a Gift to the World” Challenge.

What Keeps You From Working With Purpose?

Christy loved certain aspects of owning and running her interior design business – but definitely not all of them!

Working With Purpose 7She loved the whole creative side of the business and managing her team through the process of coming up with beautiful designs for her clients.  Christy also loved acquiring new clients and bringing them on board–she really enjoyed engaging with new people.  And the other piece that she truly loved was coming up with strategies to grow the business.

All of these things really excited her.

However, there were certain aspects of her business that drove Christy absolutely crazy!

With all the growth that she created for the business, Christy had to grow the team.  What drove her the craziest were all the tensions, stresses and upsets between the members of her team.  Christy had never learned how to handle personnel issues, and quite frankly, her strategy was to avoid all that as much as she possibly could—quite the opposite of working with purpose!

The other enemy of her business, and Christy truly felt like it was an enemy, was all the detailed stuff.

She was slightly ADD and her eyes would rotate in opposite directions when certain team members would get her bogged down in the small details of the work they were doing.

Christy wanted to stay high-level, only dealing with the big picture, and REALLY wished they would just leave her alone.  But the more Christy resisted this, the more her team members seemed to tug on her to help with the detailed stuff, and she absolutely hated it!

To avoid all these things that she didn’t like in her business, Christy found herself doing one of two things.  Firstly, when she was at the office, she would close her door.  This in turn really stifled her energy and creativity.  She loved the hum of her business, and by closing her door it cut her off from that hum, and it didn’t serve her well at all.

Christy began to feel depressed in her office with the door closed like that for extended periods of time.

So more and more she started to find reasons to not come into the office.  Christy scheduled client meetings outside the office instead of inviting them there where her team members would be able to hear firsthand what the client wanted, and the client could be part of the creative process. This had always been part of her vision of her team working with purpose—and now she was doing the exact opposite!

The very thing that Christy was trying to avoid was having to transmit details–and this was exactly the scenario she was creating for herself because she had to come back to the office and pass all the information on to her team members.  Talk about a self-created nightmare!

What keeps you from working with purpose?

Here’s how to reconnect to it:

  • Stop avoiding.
  • Identify what’s getting in the way.
  • Take action—make the necessary changes.
  • Delegate to free yourself up.
  • Enjoy your business!

Christy went from being passionate about her business to dreading being at the office.  She felt less and less motivated.  She knew she wasn’t working with purpose.  She was losing sight of her “why“– what she was doing this for.

Christy absolutely couldn’t stand being like this and knew she had to do something about it!

The brilliant solution she came up with was to promote Michelle, one of her senior key team members who she really enjoyed working with to team manager! Christy had her attend all of the meetings, both inside and outside the office.  It was then Michelle’s job to manage the projects, coordinate with the team members, and handle all the details with everyone – which left Christy completely freed up!

Christy felt like a HUGE weight had been lifted off her shoulders almost immediately!  It was amazing how relieved she was to delegate everything to Michelle!

Her team members loved coordinating with Michelle.  Suddenly everybody was happier!

Christy started to come into the office much more frequently now that she was enjoying it again.  As a result, more client meetings were held there.  With this, all kinds of resources—such as fabrics and samples–were available for clients to actually touch and experience, which served both her clients and the team much, much better.

Christy reconnected with her passion and purpose, and now once again loved every aspect of her business!

Have you lost the zest you used to have for your work?  Do you find yourself “avoiding” rather than creating in your business and your life?  Are you ready to find your purpose—what you’re really here to do?  If so, click HERE to sign up for the 21-Day “I AM a Gift to the World” Challenge.

How Can You Write Dynamic Web Content for Your Home Business?

How can you write dynamic web content for your home business?

How Can You Write Dynamic Web Content for Your Home Business? That question never occurred to Rose and John when they decided to  set up a website to sell hybrid e-bike conversion kits.

After all, Rose was a good writer. And John knew everything there was to know about converting a regular bicycle into a hybrid with motorization.

It looked like a match made in heaven!

And it might turn out to be the perfect solution if John were let go from his job, a distinct possibility with all the downsizing going on. Sure, the company would offer him a severance package – he’d see them offer that to other engineers – but the severance money would run out, and he would need a new source of income.

And at his age, the job market didn’t look promising.

So he and Rose got busy creating a site. Someone advised them to set up a blog instead of a static site so that visitors to the site could leave comments and ask questions John could answer.

John found a bike conversion kit manufacturer with an affiliate program and signed up to make commissions on sales. With some help from their grandson, he and Rose put up a sales page and a Paypal button.

John wrote the posts, and Rose edited them. They used a free theme that allowed them to put photos up, and posted twice a week.

It didn’t take long to see that their dynamic web content was not doing the job. They weren’t impatient, mind you – they had heard that it takes time, so the fact that there weren’t any sales the first month didn’t bother them.

The second month went by, and still no sales. No comments or questions, even.

By the end of the fourth month, with his continuing employment prospects at his company looking ever bleaker, John grew concerned. They were going to have to do something to attract more people to the site and to make sure that a significant percentage of those who did visit it saw the value in buying the kits.

Now when John sat down to write, he felt conflicted. He knew he didn’t know how to create effective web copy, and Rose didn’t know enough about the Internet to help.

What could they do that would make a difference?

Rose and John talked it over, and Rose agreed to enroll in an Internet marketing course.

Here are some of the things she learned that ended up making a big difference for them. They can make a difference for you, too:

  • Your web publishing content has to catch the attention of both your target market and the search engines.
  • Of these, the primary audience is the real live person who has a perceived NEED, a PROBLEM you can solve.
  • Your first challenge is to figure out what problems or needs your product or service can resolve.
  • The next step is to attract visitors to your site by putting yourself so firmly in their shoes that you know what words they will type into the search engines to find your solution to their problem.
  • Next, you must write dynamic web content that gets them to stay on your site long enough to know that you understand their need, that you have the solution, and that you will treat them right.

John had been writing blog posts about the joy of biking and how to convert a bike to a hybrid. He was thinking like a biking enthusiast.

As a result of what Rose was learning at school, he and Rose began thinking instead from the point of view of a person who had a problem a bicycle conversion kit could solve

Why would anyone want such a kit? That was the question, Rose’s teacher said. There were a variety of possibilities.

John’s problem had been back pain that kept him from riding his bike. Someone else might just be looking for exercise that was not too tasking. Or to avoid traffic jams on trips to the market. Or to save money on gas.

These were approaches to reaching his market that he would never have thought of had he not started thinking like his prospective customers.

Okay, so that’s how you get the people. Now, what about the search engines?

  • Find words or phrases (keywords) that your audience frequently types in and for which competition from other sites is relatively low.
  • Fortunately, there are tools you can use to help you with this. WordTracker is one. Market Samurai is another. Both are well respected. Expect a bit of a learning curve with whichever one you choose. (These are paid tools, but they’re not overly expensive. You can use Google for free, but it tends to be considerably less accurate.)

Once he started addressing the problems people had, using the keywords they would type into the search engines to find their solutions, John was happy to see the number of visitors to his site increase considerably. He began giving them reasons to come back, and sales happened. Like magic!

By the way, John still has his job. And he and Rose are feeling a lot easier about the future, no matter what happens there.

Miracle Mindshift! Success Stories

Kevin Wilke "During the time I was using the Miracle Mindshift, out of nowhere significantly increased the money into my business while at the same significantly decreased the time I was working in my business.

So now, this is something that came out of nowhere because of this program.

And now... a new branding opportunity has opened and is going to be a great new income opportunity and a bigger business!"

- Kevin Wilke

Hear Kevin's LIVE Success Story:

Lynn Benjamin"Something so beautiful happens each day as I listen to the daily Miracle Mindshift. The best way I can describe the experience is simultaneously getting juiced up a vibrational level, or more, while getting settled right into, grounded into the center of my being.

Today, while listening to day 15, SEVERAL lights in the mansion turned on. A rapid download of aha's begin to make my heart feel different. I'm integrating now, and can say that I will now experience the four directions on a physical level, rather than having the four directions as just concepts. How part of the earth we are. I look forward to a deepening of this physical connection with the four directions.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, I'm so grateful!"

- Lynn Benjamin

StacyQuinn"I went through the day 11 content, and I was hearing the same critical chatter in my mind. I realized how these rules, this previous programming was resisting my affirmations.

When I did my verbal affirmations, the chatter in my head was actually "talking" over my verbal affirmations. I was inches away from a mirror, looking directly in my own eyes, saying my affirmations and the voice in my head said:
"How could a gift to the world be so ugly?"

I was surprised by my own reaction. I started laughing. I mean belly laughing. I'm still laughing as I write this.

I don't know who that dude was but he's very rude and he's not my friend. I now know what he sounds like and how he talks.

I wanted to send this email to thank you. Because I'm not listening to that jerk anymore."

- Stacy Quinn

Monica_Leccese"I completed my first "Mindshift" after having battled the cacophony of voices and Master Trickster that seem to come along with changing thought patterns. I devoted a portion of each day to the practice, although not the same time each day: to the imaging, writing, and speaking of my declarations and affirmations. I recorded each "Gift" that I received and was sure to be grateful for each one, every day. By the end of the month my declarations were manifesting although not in an "overwhelming" manner. Still...at the end...I was so very grateful. I decided to commence another "shift" ...   I would create a circle, image my declarations, state them...but on a lesser scale than a full practice. After that decision I started to create a circle where I would light a flame to each direction. .......and that's when it happened......I shifted. I can only describe the feeling as the most amazing I have ever experienced: time, the world, my perspective...stopped; the energy rushing through me was so empowering it was nearly overwhelming. I had never before felt so alive, so en pointe in the moment, so...on...purpose. I had rubbed the magic lantern and the genie has held my hand ever since. I have been getting EVERYTHING I have been asking for, to the EXACT degree I have asked. Remember...you get what you ask for."
